SACD / DSD
Direct Stream Digital is a digital protocol put forth by the Sony Corporation. It works with ultra high sample rates in the range of 2.8 MHz. The sound reproduction is similar to that of the DVD-A quality. In basic theory, this recording technology would seem to be far superior to PCM, however with a little research … the jury is still out.
