Mastering originated with the LP Vinyl record. The mastering legends of old had to match head alignments, balance EQ for cutting and make sure the sound was still out standing.  While the tools have changed, the skill and artistry still are required to create a fantastic recording.  Mastering is all about the final artistic vision that unifies and creates the overall sound of an album.   Through the proper use of compression, limiting, EQ and other very simple processes the sound of the album as a whole is unified.

It is best to record your master to the best format you can muster. For analog this would be 30 ips with out noise reduction and 15 ips with dolby SR. For digital a computer wave file that is 24 bits @ the highest sample rate multiple of 44.1 (88.2 or 176.4) that your best converter can handle. Contact us about a free demo.
